CCD

Colony Collapse Disorder

Why is the honey bee population severly dropping just over the last couple of years? Studies, researchers, and scientists have come up with a couple of probabilities, but have no actual ties to the main dilemma. So far recent studies have come up with a probable solution (however not direct) known as Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD). CCD is new and little-understood to scientists.

In theory, externalitites tie into this epidemic of bee's because without bee's cross-pollinating, 35% of the U.S. vegetables, fruits, plants, flowers, and etc. will not be profitable. The quality of these fruits and vegetables will be far less and the demand for fruits and vegetables could reach an all time high causing prices to raise dramatically. Thus, putting a shift into the economy and seriously questioning other alternative sources of food.
